February's Snow Violets

Her name was True
a lady so dear
and
a grandmother to me
she was a January baby
born so long ago  1895
she came to live in Stillwater
 at the age
 of one month

I was the little angel
that came into her life
one she had until she left
this world

She shared her love,
her heart and her knowledge
of life with me
her beautiful world of the
flowers and the land that
surrounded her life

Many times through my
 young life
when February came
she would say 
come bevie its time to see
if the violets have
popped their head
through the
 winter snow
